About this listen

Penguin presents the audiobook edition of Vince and Joy by Lisa Jewell, read by Antonia Beamish and Leighton Pugh.

'You know that was the best thing that ever happened to me, don't you?'

She smiled. 'Me, too.'

July, 1986. Vince and Joy have their whole lives ahead of them on the day they meet. Two weeks later they must part, each having lost a piece of their heart to the other. They won't see one another for seven years.

Where will they be then?

And in the years that follow? What will become of Vince and Joy?

What a story, could see everything in my minds eye! Detail amazing.

Couldn't wait to get into my car for the commute between Birmingham and Hampshire whilst listening. Didn't want it to end!

2nd book by this author and won't be my last! Narrator was fab although Jess sounded like Mick Jagger!

Loved the ending, hopefully there will be a sequel?

Believable, interesting, detailed

Loved this story enough not to be put off by the bad language that was used by certain characters but could understand this was in keeping with the characters they were portraying.

Shame about the bad language

I really enjoyed this book. Not her best book but still a good story and great characters

Lovely story and great characters

Lisa Jewell's writing is fluent, melodious and thoroughly compelling. Her characters are fully-forged and authentic. 'Vince and Joy' is a wonderful story dealing with the complexities of life and the fated events that make a person who they are, or who they become. The story was brilliantly narrated by both female and male narrators. I would thoroughly recommend this title.

A gem of a book
