I have thoroughly enjoyed this journey. what started off with me thinking it was about a silly princess with love problems.. beautifully flourished into a brilliant story which was easy to follow and listen to.. Nice amount of love tension.. story.. and character development. I really do recommend. only thing I would to of like to of seen more, was the smutty scenes written in ehem... more depth and description.. but that's just me. and the narrator(both) were spot on!!!

Every character is well developed, funny, endearing and likeable.

Wish more fantasy books were like this and can’t quite believe I haven’t seen Rowan talked more about on booktok etc.

What an INCREDIBLE series!! Ugh! So much swoon, action, Intrigue, laughs, tears, found family, sassy heroine, morally grey Hero. This story is just 🤌🏻 *chef's kiss*
One of my top favorites. I've reread and relistened to this series at least 4x. And it only released in 2021, so it's gotta be good, right?! 😆
This is a spin off of The Lochlann Treaty series. It follows the next generation. Feuds can be read on its own but the story is richer read in order, and there will be spoilers for Treaty.

🎧The narrators for this are my absolute favorite. They are SO SO TALENTED! So much emotion and heart put into it. They're accents are on point. I search out other books they've done. 👌🏻They're perfect. Adam Gold doesn't come in till book 4 but Oliva King holds it down just fine till then. 😊

Listened to this after the previous collection in the series and found I was used to the incorrect pronunciation of 'Calm' although it still grated on me every time I heard it!! 🤬
Enjoyable story, enough goin on and kept me interested, worth a listen for sure!

excellent series, Rowan is hilarious, and the narrator represents it brilliantly. the series is full of excitement, emotional, made me cry at one point too, but mostly its written and presented so so well. I couldn't have enough of it.

I’m only on book 1, and while the story is engaging enough to want to keep listening, there is a fair bit of silliness, lack of attention to detail and inconsistencies. Side saddles for instance, are different saddles, you don’t just sit to the side on a normal one, you’d slide off, so suddenly switching from side to normal wouldn’t be an option. The ridiculous summit that went on for 8 days had my eyes rolling into the back of my head, and the protagonist just behaves like an entitled brat, and is so annoying I’m glad when she ends up in trouble.
While the narrator’s pace and acting are good, she’s another American who has learnt to speak English at the Princess Diana school of pronunciation. Which, could be fitting for an English princess, but she appears to be Scottish. The constant errors are jarring, and it may pass for US ears, but it does not work if you’re British. It all makes the story telling much weaker, and I’d have preferred if she’d read in her own accent to be honest. I debated returning the book, but became invested enough in the story to continue.
Having now completed the set, it’s still OK, not complex, but enough ofa story to want to know what happens next. It is a relief to never have to hear lash pronounced as larsh or corm instead of calm among other criminal mispronunciations though. Why did no-one tell her after book 1? Such a shame as she has a nice tone and reads well. The male narrator did a far better job, thankfully, and was extremely easy on the ear.

Pleasantly surprised, listened to this from a recommendation… I really enjoyed the story. World building, enemy to lovers .. politics, .. witty humour. The only downside was the female narrator mispronouncing words quite a lot.. (I personally found it annoying as it made me say out loud the correct pronunciation 🤣 and detracted from the story) having said that she was excellent with an animated voice and using different voices which brought the story to life even with the mispronounced words!! … well worth downloading and listening to
